Discord
Discord is where the team syncs and talks. Public channels are open to the whole community, for questions and non-technical reports. Private channels hold the team's work.
Join
Accept the server invite, in the browser or the desktop app.
Get enrolled
Introduce yourself in the community channels, get to know the team, and share what you want to work on. A project member then enrolls you. You get the developers or ops role, which opens the private working channels, and access to the GitHub repositories you work on.
Link your accounts
Enrollment links your GitHub and Discord accounts, so CI can mention you on Discord. Send a project member these two values in a direct message:
- Your GitHub username, shown in your profile's address:
github.com/<username>. - Your Discord user ID, a long number rather than your display name. Turn on User Settings (the gear at the bottom left) → Advanced → Developer Mode. Then click your avatar at the bottom left and choose Copy User ID.
The link between your two accounts is private. It is stored encrypted in the team's secrets manager, read only by the CI account that mentions you, and masked in every log. Your main accounts are safe to use. If you would rather keep A-Novel apart from them, you can create dedicated GitHub and Discord accounts instead.
